(Military Times – Staff Report – June 14, 2016)

The Senate on Tuesday easily passed its version of the National Defense Authorization Act, by a vote of 85-13. Forty-eight Republicans and 37 Democrats voted for the bill; six Republicans and seven Democrats voted against the bill (two senators didn’t vote).

The version of the bill the Senate passed still needs to be reconciled with the version the House passed earlier this year before it can be sent to President Obama for his signature or, as he has threatened, his veto.
