‘Thank You for Your Service’ Comes Out This Week To Movie Theaters

The film ‘Thank You for Your Service’ is based on a 2013 book by David Finkel of the same name; Finkel embedded with an Army infantry battalion to write 2009’s “The Good Soldiers,” then followed it up with “Thank You for Your Service” to address how the battalion’s members coped with life after combat.

“A vet knows another vet when they see them,” writer/director Jason Hall says in the film, addressing why producers sought veterans to serve as extras during scenes such as one where the main character, a soldier played by Miles Teller, visits a Veterans Affairs center. “And so I wanted the veterans who are watching this move to recognize other veterans.”

The movie is being released this week at AMC Theaters.
