“On Wednesday, the House passed resolutions that honor the service of two groups of World War II veterans with the Congressional Gold Medal.
Members of the United States Merchant Marine and the citizens of the Philippines both valiantly served our country during World War II. This honor is much deserved recognition of the vital role they played in defending the freedom we enjoy as Americans.
I am very proud to have supported both of these bills, which ensure that the sacrifices of the United States Merchant Marine and citizens of the Philippines are not overlooked.
