Here are some legislative bills that may interest you. These were just introduced on the Hill the last week on June. If they are something that you support, please write your Congressional Delegate (CODEL) and ask them to support it as it comes to the floor.

S. 1473, by Sen. John Boozman, R-Ark., would provide a five-year extension to the homeless veterans reintegration programs and to provide clarification regarding eligibility for services under such programs.

S. 1461, by Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, would amend title 10, United States Code, to provide for the eligibility of certain former members of the Armed Forces who are medically retired and who are entitled to hospital insurance benefits under Medicare Part A by reason of previous entitlement to Social Security disability insurance benefits to enroll in the TRICARE program regardless of whether such members decline enrollment under Medicare part B.

S. 1434, by Sen. Kirsten E. Gillibrand, D-N.Y., would enhance the military childcare programs and activities of the Department of Defense.

S. 1411, by Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., would provide for a five-year extension of the payment of the special survivor indemnity allowance under the Survivor Benefit Plan.

H.R. 3075, by Rep. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., would increase the 2018 military pay raise from 2.4 to 2.9 percent.

H.R. 3049, by Rep. Michael R. Turner, R-Ohio, would require the windows in military family housing units to be equipped with fall prevention devices that protect against unintentional falls by young children. H.R. 3027, by Rep. David A. Trott, R-Mich., would improve recordkeeping and information sharing with States regarding military training performed by members of the Armed Forces and other skills developed through military service that translate to civilian occupations to expedite the transition of veterans to post-military employment.

H.R. 3011, by Rep. Walter B. Jones, Jr., would provide for forgiveness of certain overpayments of retired pay paid to deceased retired members of the Armed Forces following their death.
