The Department of the Treasury set a new deadline for veterans with dependents who did not receive a coronavirus stimulus check earlier this month. These checks can total up to $1,200 per individual and $500 per dependent. According to an article on militarytimes.com, IRS officials have promised that veterans still awaiting their $1,2000 payments should “see stimulus checks starting soon.” Just to be clear: this information is applicable to those who receive SSI or VA benefits, have qualifying children under 17, and didn’t file a tax return in 2018 or 2019.
