H.R. 203 “Clay Hunt SAV Act” passed. On 3 February, the Senate passed H.R. 203, the “Clay Hunt Suicide Prevention for American Veterans Act,” by a vote of 99 to 0. This bill provides for an independent, annual evaluation of the DoD and VA mental health care and suicide prevention programs, and it would require a pilot program on loan repayment for psychiatrists who agree to serve in the VA’s Veterans Health Administration. The measure now goes to the President for signature.
