From Scott Bousum, EANGUS Legislative Director
EANGUS Leadership:
Good morning, I hope my email finds you well. Since my 19-Nov-14 email update, Congress passed the Fiscal Year 2015 (FY15) National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and the Cromnibus, to fund the Federal Government through 30-Sept-15. The EANGUS National Office distributed The Call 14-03 and The Call 14-04 encouraging members to contact their Member of Congress and Senators to support the FY15 NDAA and Cromnibus, respectively. Eight-hundred and forty-four people took action making 2,263 connections on Capitol Hill. So far, the new grassroots advocacy software, Phone2Action, is a big success. I hope that you got a chance to respond to the calls to action, promoted your activity via social media, and you like Phone2Action.

2015 Legislative Workshop Update
One-hundred and twelve EANGUS members are registered to attend the Legislative Workshop in Washington, D.C., January 31-Feburary 3, 2015. All Executive and Congressional Branch, guest panelists are confirmed, with the exception of the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Guard and Reserve Components Caucus of the House of Representatives and Chair and Vice-Chair of the Guard Caucus of the Senate. The schedulers of the Caucus’s Chairs and Vice-Chairs requested that I email invites in January, 2015.
Communications Update
The EANGUS National Office rebranded the weekly eNewsletter to EANGUS Minuteman Update. The EANGUS Minuteman Update will arrive in members’ inboxes on Thursdays and will include updates from the EANGUS National Office Legislative Staff and pertinent news articles.
Phone2Action Update
- Currently working with Phone2Action CTO to enable software to remember users from previous campaigns. Moving forward, EANGUS members who answered The Call 14-03 or The Call 14-04 will not be asked to re-enter contact information on future calls-to-action.
- Please take a look at the “Members Answering the Call” widget on EANGUS.org. It tracks EANGUS member participation by state.
- Starting January 2015, I will have ability to utilize Phone2Action software at the state level. If you are interested in using Phone2Action for state-related legislation, please contact me.
If you have any questions or would like additional information, please do not hesitate to email me any time.
Respectfully,
Scott
