Good Samaritan Saves Man From Burning Car In New Brighton
MSgt Robert Renning, First Sergeant assigned to the 133rd Airlift Wing in Minneapolis, Minnesota was recognized for his act of heroism during the 43rd annual EANGUS Conference in Phoenix, Arizona on 13 August 2014. MSgt Renning was driving home and noticed a vehicle on fire nearby. He was able to get the driver, Michael Johannes’, attention and both vehicles pulled over. MSgt Renning helped pull Michael Johannes out of the vehicle just moments before his vehicle became fully engulfed in flames.
MSgt Renning was unable to attend the EANGUS Conference to accept his award in August so current MNGEA State President Mark Wasserbauer accepted it on his behalf and brought it back to Minnesota. The EANGUS Heroism Award was presented to MSgt Robert Renning last weekend at the 133rd Airlift Wing by MSgt Mikkael Hahn and TSgt Jeremy Bundgards (MNGEA Area 10 Co-Directors) and CMSgt Paul Kessler (133AW Wing Command Chief) in front of his peers and fellow Airman.
