Changes coming if you plan to Transfer your GI Bill benefits to your family …

Feb 12, 2016 | Benefits, National Guard

Just released from an Air Guard unit’s Retention Office ….

There are some BIG CHANGES to the Post 9/11 GI Bill Transfer of Education Benefits (TEB) to dependents forthcoming.  The bill has not been passed and signed by the President yet, so we have no further details; however, this is an immediate CALL TO ACTION — 100% of your Wings/GSU(s) need to be notified/briefed on Post 9/11 GI Bill TEB.

IF ANY POST 9/11 GI BILL QUALIFIED MEMBER OF THE AIR NATIONAL GUARD HAS INTENTIONS TO TRANSFER EDUCATION BENEFITS TO DEPENDENTS, IT IS IN THE MEMBER’S BEST INTEREST TO TRANSFER THOSE BENEFITS IMMEDIATELY!

We have not heard yet how this affects Army Guard units (if at all).  If you have GI Bill benefits (Army or Air) and you were planning to transfer them to your family member, you need to see your Education Office immediately.  Don’t miss out!

let’s get connected
