A message recently went out to the members of the Minnesota National Guard (Army and Air) regarding upcoming changes to the Tricare Dental Program.  Members who currently have TRICARE Dental coverage either have, or will, receive the email below.  Please review this email and check to ensure you have on-going dental coverage through your current provider under United Concordia.  If your dentist will not be enrolling with United Concordia Companies, you will need to find another provider to avoid additional costs for out-of-network services.

“Dear TRICARE Dental Program Beneficiary:

The Defense Health Agency continues to offer a comprehensive dental care option available for purchase by eligible active duty family members and National Guard and Reserve members and their families. Effective May 1, 2017, United Concordia Companies, Inc. (United Concordia) will assume responsibility for administering the TRICARE Dental Program, replacing the outgoing dental contractor, MetLife. Your monthly premium rate will also change and you may need to find a new dental provider. For more information about premium rates, benefit information and changes, and to find out who is in the provider network, please visit www.tricare.mil/tdp and www.uccitdp.com.”

Many dental providers should be listed under both MetLife and United Concordia but it is your responsibility to ensure this is fact and avoid charges you may not be ready for.  It only takes a few minutes and all you need is to log into United Concordia web link and enter your zip code.  It’s as easy as 1-2-3!
