From EANGUS’ latest Minuteman Update Report –
On March 29, the Military Technician Modernization Act was introduced in the U.S. Senate by Senator Manchin of West Virginia (S. 766) and in the U.S. House of Representatives by Representative Abraham of Louisiana (H.R. 1777). This legislation, the Military Technician Modernization Act, “will allow our military technicians to have the same continuity of health care that every other National Guardsman has, a goal of our association’s for many years,” said EANGUS Executive Director, Frank Yoakum, Sergeant Major, U.S. Army (retired). In addition, it allows military technicians to receive enlistment, reenlistment, and other bonuses to which they have not only been restricted from receiving, but had to pay back if they were already recipients of a bonus from a different status of service. “EANGUS supports the provisions of S. 766 and H.R. 1777 that extend these sought after benefits to technicians.”
