It’s official, the 2019 cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for Social Security recipients, military retired pay, survivor annuities, VA disability and Dependency and Indemnity (DIC) benefits will be 2.8 percent.  This is the largest COLA increase since 2011 when it was 3.6 percent.  As a reminder, COLAs for 2019 begin December 1 and are payable starting with the January check.
