Camp Kooch-i-ching (koochiching.org) is a Boys’ camp in International Falls, Minnesota. Campers come up for a four week session and participate in their in-camp program and a wilderness trip. The in-camp program includes classes (archery, climbing, sailing, fishing, and many more) as well as age-based activities and games. The wilderness trip is a smaller group, typically between 8 or 9 campers and 3 or 4 staff, which go on a canoe trip or a backpacking trip. Campers have diverse interests and backgrounds, but look for boys who are nice and hard-working.
Camp Kooch-i-ching has received some generous donations to support veterans’ children attending camp. The funds are available to fully cover anyone who has experienced hardship due to their service. There are currently three or four full scholarships for kids of military parents that Camp Kooch-i-ching would like to award. Anyone who has been deployed in Iraq or Afghanistan, or had a physical, mental, or financial hardship as a result of their service, will have priority, however, all military families are encouraged to apply.
