The Minnesota National Guard recently hosted their 2nd annual Women’s Professional Development Forum on 13 August at the Best Buy Corporate Headquarters facility in Richfield, Minnesota. The theme for this forum was “Accept the Challenge: Lead the Team”. This event is a training event for Minnesota National Guard Soldiers and Airmen. Male and female service members of all ranks are encouraged to attend. Training included individual development tools, career path management and leadership development. Attendees also received guidance and perspectives from key leaders to better prepare for them to assume positions of greater responsibility. This event is an integral activity to achieving organizational objectives for increasing resiliency, retention and diversifying the force.
MNGEA attended this event and provided an informational table for our Soldiers and Airmen. MNGEA State President Ray Kennedy and Executive Director Paul Cocchairella answered questions on benefits, programs, scholarship opportunities and the importance of membership in a professional organization. “We were excited to be asked to attend!” said Mark Wasserbauer, MNGEA Past President. “MNGEA is proud to support this very important and relevant event!”
MNGEA is a non-profit Professional Military Organization who represents the interests of the enlisted personnel of the Minnesota Army and Air National Guard. It is the sole professional organization specifically working on behalf of the Minnesota Guardsmen and women.
