MNGEA recently attended the MN National Guard’s Joint Senior Enlisted Leaders Conference (JSELC) on 24-25 January at Camp Ripley. The JSELC is a joint Army and Air Guard professional development event allowing senior leaders from across the state to come together and discuss important issues facing the enlisted force. CSM John Raines, the National Guard’s Senior Enlisted Advisor (SEA) to the Chief of the National Guard Bureau (NGB), was a guest speaker and provided NGB’s perspective on key initiatives and concerns facing the National Guard. Major General Shawn Manke, MN Adjutant General, CSM Jason Rost, MN Command Senior Enlisted Leader (CSEL), and CMSgt Richard Schumacher, MN State Command Chief, also spoke about current state postures, social pulse, and other topics of concern facing the MN National Guard. MNGEA State President Mark Wasserbauer and Vice President of Membership-Army Tyler Jackson also provided a quick overview of MNGEA to the group, giving status updates on current membership and legislative priorities for this legislative session. Many of the issues the MN National Guard are facing today are also championed by MNGEA through legislative efforts, working behind the scenes for our members, our retirees, and the MN National Guard.
